Hello!!
I hate finals. You get all forgetful and busy. Alas, this Monday post turned into a Friday post but that's okay! Today I am doing something a little bit different in order to showcase my other writings. I am going to take a break from TPLBIG (But check it out though because the plot thickens *gasp*) to do a miniseries. I have been influenced by a few good friends to do a post or two (or five) of some of my other works for your enjoyment so I decided to heed the call! Happy Reading! QUOTES: "The block of meat!" -Noel "You frozen, dehydrated Cranberry!" -Faith "Nineteen and so forth." -Noel "I've relapsed into redundancy!" -Noel "I don't need trivial things. I don't need love. I don't think of endless means. I just need hope form above." -Noel "I'm always looking at me. I'm all I can see. It seems I can't see clearly. What must I give to gain what I have forgotten?" -Noel "Are you awake or is dawn surrounding you with a helplessness?" -Noel "Antelope Crayon!" -Faith "Curly-ques and whoop-ti-doos conclude that you are broken too and hoping that your love shines through is all I need to forgive you." - Noel "If you just keep talking they'll never know how much you are breaking - hoping you'll be okay." -Noel "You can't pick off Mayo - it's a sauce." -A very good friend "I could lie to you. I could tell you I do not care. I could not care - but I do." -Noel "I feel like I'm fighting a failing battle." -Noel "Because you did." -Noel "You know, he hides away too - so I should get a right to hide away." -Noel "Take a walk with many people and you'll start to see how unique you are." -Noel "The detrimental worldview you maintain detains me from being able to define your distant nature in any other way that does not dignify a response as determined by your predisposition." -Noel SHORTS: Between Two Lovers: "I hope you know I love you, Mr. Ross." I pass the slip of paper to him with a child-like grin on my face. A smile lifts his cheeks as he opens the note, scribbles something down and passes it back. "Yes, yes I do. I love yoy I messed up. Twice I love you too, Hannah Noel. With all that I am." I chuckle aloud at his words and instantly cover my mouth. I need to be quiet so I don't disturb anyone. Keeping silent, I write back. "I wanna keep this paper but I find it funny that you chose my middle name. Was that purposeful? (Cute smiley face by the way.)" I pass back the note in anticipation of a response. Looking up, he writes a note and begins packing up his book bag. I flip open the paper and read, "It certainly was purposeful, now with purpose we ought to leave before security carries us out. Hurry, hurry, scurry, scurry." I pack up my bag as quickly as possible, snatch up the note and silently run to catch up with him- giggling all the way. We walk out of the building, holding hands once I've caught up. "What do you mean, it was purposeful?" I ask when we are safely outside in the soft snow. "It was purposeful because you haven't gotten your name yet." He says as softly as the snow falls. I tip my head to the side in confusion, silently pleading for him to say more. "You're last name is wrong. You don't have the right one yet." He whispers ever so silently, "But some day, you will." An Unsuccessful Quest: It rattled her heart. It stirred her mind, but what's more, it left her breathless and terrified. Hands shaking in what came closest to her showing fear, Amy staggered out of the bathroom stall and to the sink. She drew in quick breaths as she let cool water wash over her hands. Bringing her face towards the sink, she cupped water in her hands and poured it over her features, repeatedly. Again and again she tried to clean that fear from her very soul - almost removing her own identity if it were possible. But, try as she might, she could not bring herself to look in the mirror - seeing what she had in her eyes. The words came echoing back - although almost a full 20 minutes later - as she stopped the sink and dried her skin with the rough towels provided. Taking a steadying breath, Amy built back up her unbreakable exterior and exited the bathroom. Checking over her shoulder all the way, she walked the halls of the building before retiring to her quarters. The building proved just as quiet as she had previously assumed it was. As she locked the door behind her, Amy shivered one last time. It would not be until much later that Amy would realize she had left Ava B. Maline alone in that bar. The woman she had long before tried to find waited over an hour for Amy's return before finally leaving. She has not resurfaced since." She-wolf: Her arms lifted as she grabbed for the bar-bell in front of her. It seemed she could press up to twice her weight, especially when she was slightly enraged. It didn't have to be a matter of life and death either. It wasn't hard to make her peeved. Enraged was almost a natural, defining trait of hers. It was as defining as the color of her skin. Well tanned it was. The noisy room seemed inconsequential to her exercise routine - nothing and no one would get in the way of her goal in all aspects - one could only imagine. I glanced up from mu hawk-watch and looked at the wristwatch I wore. I was never one for watches but when it came to the agency, no accessory was simply there. Everything had a second purpose, a hidden meaning. Most are that way. This watch alone could disable a predator and communicate hundreds of thousands of miles, not to mention the FM radio. 19:43 hours. I set the 15 pound weights aside and bend down to tie my laces. Damn things always come undone - not a smart choice Layna. When I stand up again I become aware of the fact that Shenia is no where to be seen. I glance at my watch again as I grab my gm bag and dash to the building's front. 19:46 hours. She must've quit a minute ago. Damn it Layna, how could you forget your basic training? Never take your eyes off your target. Even a second of distraction can cause you to lose your sight-line - like this. As I rush out on to the street I see the short blonde's head bob up the street crowd so I waste no time catching up. She walks at a fast enough clip but is by no means running. Her swift pace and abrupt departure suggest hurry, but to where? As we pass second street, I ignore her home as her intended destination. In a quick second she scans the street in a swift look and pulls a sharp left corner. Taking pains not to repeat my prior mistake, I duck into the same corner upon arrival. Keeping a safe distance but Shenia in sight, I follow until she halts abruptly. I follow suit and take care to be blocked from view by a partly full barrel. I can only fathom what could be contained inside to create such a horrid stench. Peeking around my barrel and forcing my lunch to remain in my stomach, I notice a second figure appear. Although I can't make out the distinctive features perfectly, it is the man's voice that reveals him. The question in my mind is this, what are a street fighter and a male stripper from King's College doing meeting in an ally? Although a few unsavory ideas come to mind, it seems this means business.
